MAYOR LINVILLE TO SPEAK AT FRIENDS' ANNUAL MEETING

Mayor Kelli Linville will be the keynote speaker at the Friends of the Bellingham Public Library Annual Meeting on Saturday, April 28 at the Central Library Lecture Room. Mayor Linville will share her perspective on libraries and her vision for the Bellingham Public Library during her term of office and beyond. The meeting begins at 10 a.m.; the doors at the lower level of the library will open at 9:45 a.m. The public is encouraged to attend.

The Friends will offer light refreshments, door prizes, and an opportunity to chat with other library supporters. A short business meeting will follow Mayor Linville's talk.

The Friends of the Bellingham Public Library is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. In 2011, the Friends volunteered over 20,000 hours, planning and hosting several used book sales. Proceeds from the sales go to support various library services and collections, like the annual Whatcom READS! program, Summer Reading, and eBooks. The Friends recently donated $50,000 to kick off the Bellingham Public Library Capital Fund at the Whatcom Community Foundation.
