The Bellingham Public Library belongs to all of us. There are several ways you can be a part of this community treasure.
Give your time
Join the Friends of the Bellingham Public Library and meet others like you who are passionate about the library. The Friends support library programs and services through their volunteer and fund-raising activities, providing a financial boost to the library. In 2008, the Friends donated over $60,000 towards children’s programs, library furnishings, downloadable audiobooks, computer workstations and many other projects.
Give your books
Clear off your bookshelves to make room for new titles – and bring your gently used books, audiobooks, music CDs and DVDs to the Central Library for the Friends of the Bellingham Public Library to sell at their used book sales. Proceeds benefit the library. Have boxes of books but no way to transport them to the Central Library? The Friends have a list of volunteers who you may call to arrange to pick them up at your home.
Give a donation
Honor a friend or loved one with a memorial book or make a donation to the Bellingham Public Library Endowment Fund. All donations are tax-deductible.

Give your talent
We are in the process of establishing the Bellingham Public Library Foundation to support long-term capital projects for the library. We are looking for civic-minded individuals with legal expertise, or experience in fundraising, accounting, business management, or event planning. Please contact Library Director Pamela Kiesner at 360-778-7221 or pkiesner@cob.org if you would like to help “found a foundation”.
