Children ages birth - 5 years have their own Summer Reading program!
Designed for those not yet reading, children (and parents!) are challenged
to complete an activity sheet focused on families

How to participate in the Little Sparks Club:
Print or pick up a Little Sparks activity sheet (PDF) from the Central
Library, Barkley Branch or Fairhaven Branch Library.
- Complete the activities!
- When all activities are completed, come to the library and celebrate
with fun prizes including a mystery gift from one of our Community
Partners, a yard sign, an invitation to the Summer Reading
Recognition Ceremony on August 21st and a free book from
the Friends of the Library.

programs. We have a great line-up for ages birth - 5 including:
Little Storytime: This
25-minute storytime develops early literacy skills by introducing babies
and toddlers to the love of books, songs, rhymes, fingerplays and
movement. Lots of fun! For ages birth - 3 years with an
Storytime: This 30-minute storytime encourages development of
pre-reading skills through stories, songs, rhymes, fingerplays and
narrative. Enjoy a fun and simple craft at the end. For ages
3 - 5 with an adult partner.
Time for Tales: This 45-minute
storytime promotes the love of books through stories and songs while
developing reading comprehension skills. Plus, kids get to be
creative with a fun craft! For ages 4 - 8.

Public Library and other Community Partners.
