We Share A Story 2008

children in Tateyama, Japan participating in We Share A Story

Created in 2002, We Share A Story is an innovative literacy program offering students around the world an opportunity to share a chosen book.  In 2008, 22 schools in 12 countries were involved in the exchange.

Each of the 22 schools worldwide received and read Somewhere Today: A Book of Peace by Shelley Moore Thomas during International Education Week, November 17 - 23.   Each participating classroom prepared a classroom introduction packet to share with their "sister schools" around the world.  These packets included photographs, letters, drawings and other items of interest to children in a faraway land.  All schools were encouraged to maintain their "sister school" relationships in 2009.
