Bellingham Public Library provides Outreach services to Bellingham residents who, because of age, illness, or long-term disability of three months or more, are unable to visit the library in person.
Assisted Living / Nursing Homes / Health Care Centers
Once-a-month library service is scheduled at 14 facilities across Bellingham. Residents provide reading profiles and library staff pre-select materials including:
Residents may also place holds on specific titles.
Individuals who are confined to their homes for three months or more are eligible for home service. Individuals arrange to have a family member, volunteer, or caregiver pick up and deliver pre-selected library materials to them.
Individuals who qualify as vision-impaired may also receive recorded books and magazines through the Washington Talking Book and Braille Library. Their toll free number is 1-800-542-0866. Applications for this service are available from Outreach staff and at the Information and Reference Desk at the Central Library.
