Parking and library access during Relay for Life July 8-9, 2016

Library users planning to visit the Central Library on Friday, July 8 or Saturday, July 9 are advised that parking on the streets immediately surrounding the library will not be available due to street closures for the annual Relay for Life of Whatcom County.

The library maintains its regular business hours of 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on July 8 and 9 during the Relay for Life. Alternative library parking is provided in the lot south of the Whatcom County Courthouse. ADA parking can be accessed through the alley that opens onto Flora Street. Relay for Life of Whatcom County is an international fundraising event sponsored by the American Cancer Society. Library users are encouraged to come experience Relay for Life, and see first-hand how an idea started by one man who ran around a track for 24 hours in 1985 has grown into an activity involving millions of participants around the world.
