Ring in the winter holidays with music, crafts, movies & more

December 2: Music in the Library – Bellingham Ukulele Orchestra
Friday, December 2, 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Lecture Room at the Central Library
Each year the Bellingham Public Library hosts local music groups and solo musicians during the month of December, as part of our Music in the Library series. This evening’s concert will feature the Bellingham Ukulele Orchestra, who will be performing a variety of holiday music for all to enjoy.

December 3: Music in the Library – Western Winds and Western Brass
Saturday, December 3, 4:30 – 5:15 p.m.
Lecture Room at the Central Library
The Scholarship Woodwind Quintet “Western Winds” will play from 4:30 p.m. – 4:50 p.m., and the Scholarship Brass Quintet “Western Brass” will play from 4:50 p.m. – 5:15 p.m. Both groups are part of the chamber music program at Western Washington University. Join us for traditional carols, jazzy swings, classics by Bach and Debussy, and more!

December 7-10: Friends of the Library Winter Book Sale
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday,  December 7 – 9, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00  p.m.
Saturday, December 10, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Lecture Room at the Central Library
Large selection for all ages! Used books, DVDs, CDs and more, most items $1.00! Tables are continuously restocked. All proceeds benefit the library. For more information, call 360-778-7250 or email friendslibrary3@gmail.com.

December 8 & 22: PaperCraft Party
Thursdays, December 8, 22, 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.
SkillShare Space at the Central Library
Come explore the wide world of playing with paper! Paper crafting materials provided. Drop in and make something simple or elaborate! Children under 10 should be accompanied by an adult.

December 15: Make It at Your Library – Ornaments and Decorations
Thursday, December 15, 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
SkillShare Space at the Central Library
Come to the SkillShare Space and learn to make delightful, handmade, book-themed ornaments and decorations! Children under 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

December 16: Music in the Library – featuring Kid’Sax Ensemble
Friday, December 16, 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Lecture Room at the Central Library
A small group of local students will perform a delightful saxophone concert for your enjoyment.

December 20: Music in the Library – featuring the Bellingham Damekor Singers
Tuesday, December 20, 7:00 – 7:45 p.m.
Lecture Room at the Central Library
Enjoy the delightful songs of the Bellingham Damekor Singers, a Norwegian ladies chorus.

December 19-30: Winter Movie Matinees
Monday, December 19: 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Wednesday, December 21: 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Thursday, December 22: 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Tuesday, December 27: 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Drop by the library and create an array of fun winter crafts! All craft supplies will be provided.

December 28: 26th Annual Note of Thanks
Wednesday, December 28: 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Come join us for our annual tradition of giving thanks and make your own fun and creative thank you notes. Materials will be provided.
