Autumn is just around the corner and the Bellingham Public Library offers a full line-up of programs and events for all ages in September 2024.
Special events will honor National Recovery Month, Banned Books Week, and Whatcom Water Week. Special displays will recognize Hispanic Heritage Month and Voting. The Friends of the Bellingham Public Library fall book sale will be Sept. 26 – 28.

Bring your broken household items to SkillShare at the Central Library and work with skilled volunteers from NW Free Repairs to learn how to repair them. Volunteers have experience repairing common household items such as toys, small kitchen appliances, electric tools and many other items that would otherwise end up in a landfill. Please note: broken items may not be dropped off to be repaired. Owners may participate in making the repairs with the repair volunteers.

Addiction touches the lives of millions of people every year. We hear about it, we experience it, but we don’t openly talk about it. In honor of National Recovery Month, join local expert Dr. Shannon Boustead in this all-community event at the Bellingham High School Performing Arts Center, located at 2020 Cornwall Ave, to learn the basics of addiction science and hear from community members in recovery about their lived experiences.
