Winter Reading Challenge

We think winter is the best time to cozy up with a good story so we’ve put together a reading challenge, just for adults! Join the Bellingham Public Library in celebrating your joy of reading (or listening) throughout the winter months.

The Winter Reading Challenge will kick off on Tuesday, December 30 from 4:00 – 5:45 pm in the SkillShare Space at the Central Library. At this special session, Adult Services Librarian Katie Bray will discuss the Library staff’s favorite titles of 2025 and introduce our new Winter Reading Challenge for adults. Join us for a warm beverage and a time to get excited about winter reading!

Pick up a Winter Reading Challenge Activity Card at any Bellingham Public Library location beginning December 30, and begin the fun of reading, listening, and attending library programs and special events!

Turn in your completed Activity Card at any BPL location between January 2, 2026 and March 31, 2026 to receive a 2026 Winter Reading Challenge prize sticker.

Or join us in the SkillShare Space on Tuesday, March 31 from 4:00 – 5:45 pm where Adult Services Librarian Katie Bray will discuss the best Whatcom READS reads as well as host a celebration of our Winter Reading Challenge. Bring your completed Winter Reading Challenge card with you to this session to celebrate, enjoy a warm beverage, and collect your prize if you haven’t already turned in your card.
